A few of my favorite things to train in and race in…
GYM
RUN
SWIM
1. Speedo Women’s Solid Endurance Thin Strap Swimsuit
Chlorine is brutal on bathing suits and I have tossed a countless number of bathing suits away along with my hard earned money when the chlorine ruins the elasticity. Speedo suits have lasted me the longest. The second issue I have with suits is friction on the inside of my arms, which can cause my arms to feel raw after a long swim. The Speedo Solid Endurance Thin Strap fit is awesome and I don’t have any friction points. It is my favorite suit and worth the investment!
2. TYR Sport Special Ops 2.0 SM Polarized Swimming Goggle, White/Purple
Ever get a quick lunch hour swim and go back to work with goggle lines still on your face? This goggle is so very soft around the eyes you may forget that you have them on… that may be a stretch, but I am grateful that these never leave the appearance of raccoon impressions around my eyes.
3. Jaws Quick Spit Antifog Spray, 1-Ounce
It took me forever to make this $6 investment. I have tried nearly everyone’s recommendation on how to keep goggles from fogging up.. from baby shampoo, to my own spit, and several types of antifog spray. Jaws Quick Spit has been the best $6 investment I have made and the only thing ever regret is when I forget to put it in my gym bag.
BIKE
1. BLUE TRIAD EX SRAM FORCE (Size: XS, Year: 2014)
I am honored to be a Women’s Ambassador for Blue Bikes! Being just 5’1″ tall, the XS is a tight fit, but I love it!
2. Terry Women’s Butterfly Saddle, by Terry Bicycles. I switched out my seat for the a women’s specific
design. Investing in a saddle is a tough decision, especially when you don’t know if it will fit like a glove. I have logged a few hundred miles on this saddle so far and I haven’t had any concerns yet. It is considered softer seat for triathlon standards and it is a little wider.
3. Bontrager RL WSD Road Shoe. Some people will have a cow when they read the next sentence. I went up a size in my cycling shoes and they are slightly big. After trying on countless number of cycling shoes, this shoe fit the best and when I sized up, I had no pressure points in the shoe. I may be sacrificing power, but I am okay with that.
